Originally from Rhode Island and looking to work the summer or longer
I am seeking employment as a bartender, server, or bar manager. I am would love to work back in Rhode Island on Block Island, or Naragansett, Newport, Nantucket, or Martha's Vinyard for the summer. Any information on housing would be appreciated.
My experience includes working in various areas of service. I have extensive experience in NY, and Chicago in restaurants and music clubs. I have worked as a bar captain and manager at various locations. Most recently I was working with several companies including Danny Myer’s Union Square events/Hudson yards. Duties with Union Square included bar set up, bartending, server, event set up, and back of the house work. I have fine dining experience with Union Square, Ciprini’s, Ciprini 55 Wall Street residences, East Bank Club, and Word Yacht. I have experience with fast passed bars and service also.
I also have worked as a production manager and photo assistant, which relates directly to the service industry for it is about attending to the needs of the client. As a first assistant/studio manager for several studios including Lord and Taylor, I have worked and organized staff both in house and models.

Finding a job on the islands can be a challenge. Many business manager wait until April or May to start recruiting. That's why I build these sites. It's all about job listings and networking. I'd recommend networking with other job seekers to see what they are doing with their job search and housing.
