BlockIslandJobs.com is a social recruiting platform that builds talent communities for Block Island employers. Our goal is to change recruiting for island businesses and give island business owners the tools to better manage recruiting top talent and make recruiting more than advertising a job to a list. Recruiting always has been and always will be a pro-active process.

We built this growing community and created the tools for employers to engage, inform and hire from this community. We also allow community members to engage directly with employers.

Ok. What is a Talent Community?

A talent community is a place where Block Island employers can engage with talent: before, during and after the hire, no matter which jobs are open, no matter when they might need help. It's also a place for jobseekers interested in a company to learn more about the culture, attitude, needs and news about the island business. Talent communities are all about what you put into them.

By communicating with Gen Y in an environment that is familiar to them (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flicker, etc), Block Island employers build longer lasting relationships with more informed candidates.

How is BlockIslandJobs.com changing island recruitment?

Recruiting is not about simply "posting a job". Jobseekers have many options for employment. They want to be happy with their choice of profession and employer.
