New Job Openings at the Block Island School (2018-2019 Academic Year)

The Block Island School is K-12 with 116 students. The school was built in 1933, replacing five one roomed schools. Today, the Block Island School educates about 112 students, kindergarten through senior year. A regular school day is Monday through Thursday from 7:50am – 2:50 pm.  Every Friday, school dismisses at 12:22 pm to allow for student-athletes to travel for sporting events either on, or off the island.

There are two openings for Teachers for the Block Island School.

The Block Island School is seeking a full-time elementary teacher to work in a grade 5-7 team environment beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. Primary responsibilities are in the areas of Social Studies for grades 5-7 and ELA for grade 6. Candidates will be evaluated on their knowledge…
